I Would Like To Give You Permission

Recently, I was talking to one of my closest friends and the topic of wanting more in our lives came up. She shared with me how she really wanted more out of her life, but felt ashamed with her desire for more.

From the outside, her life looked really good. She was in a supportive marriage, she was financially secure, and all of her basic needs were taken care of.

Yet she still had this desire for something more. It was a yearning that was becoming stronger and stronger, but she kept telling herself that she “should” be happy with her life as it is.

The more she tried to convince herself to be content with her current reality, the more she felt it slowly eating away at her.

I shared with her that she’s not alone in feeling this way. It’s easy for me to “get her” because I also find myself having a desire for more.

I desire more real conversation, doing things that light me up, and creating a meaningful life for myself.

It’s not easy, and it’s a constant work in progress, but I’m doing my best to connect with my desires for more without needing to justify it to anyone.

Because the truth is I don’t need to justify my desires to anyone.

Simple as that!

I see so many women feeling that they need to “earn” the right to have desires and to go after them. I wish I could give you permission to go after your desires (regardless of what they are), but you are the only one who can give yourself permission.

I can be the person who reminds you that you are worthy of your desires.  :)

Every single one of them!

Sure… some of them may sound crazy or even impossible, but if you never go after them, you will be left wondering what you may have missed out on.

We only have one chance at this life. Go after what matters most to you so that you won’t get to the end wishing you had done things differently.

Do you have desires that you are ready to go after? If so, I would love to hear about it.
